1980 was an extraordinary year. The development of groundbreaking processes and revolutionary products at that time still influence daily life today. In Ingolstadt's north, for example, AUDI brought the first quattro all-wheel drive into series production, while in the south company founder Dr. Oskar Kurt Wack invented the S100 motorbike cleaner - the first of its kind in the world. The latter development was born out of necessity and laid the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. The sons of the company's founder, Oscar and Harald, the latter of whom has been the successor and head of the company group since 2012, were enthusiastic motocross riders in their younger years. Both passionately pursued their hobby and enjoyed themselves on the surrounding tracks whenever possible. After riding, the dirty bikes were put in the garage at home - in the hope that they would be magically cleaned and found sparkling the next morning. Reality prevailed and the cleaning was ultimately left to the boy‘s father, who desperately tried to remove the concrete-hard dried mud and spun-off chain grease with a garden hose and sponge. Following hours of scrubbing that did not produce the desired result, the doctor of chemistry had an idea: a self-acting cleaner that would revolutionise motorbike care. Soon to followwas the birth of the S100 motorbike cleaner, which still sets the benchmark for products of its kind today. Other groundbreaking products, such as the development of the S100 White Chain Spray in 1996, were to follow in the decades to come. Today, Dr. Wack offers a wide range of products for motorbike, chain and equipment care.
40 years of S100 – encompasses four decades of revolutionary product development, innovative research work and a multitude of awards and test victories. As a niche supplier, the focus is on discovering existing market gaps, analysing them and finally developing the appropriate technological product solution. The central principle of exclusively bringing new solutions for existing problems to the market or significantly improving existing products still drives the company's philosophy today, as does the fact that the products are sold exclusively through specialised dealers. The result of this philosophy includes well over 100 awards and test victories for S100 in the past 40 years, allowing the brand to claim the undisputed supremacy in the motorbike sector. Dr. Wack is thanking all its customers for their great trust and years of loyalty with a big anniversary campaign. An anniversary edition of the S100 Total Cleaner⁺ is being offered in a 1000ml container with 33% more product free of charge.
